M/S Silja Festival




Built at Wärtsilä, Helsinki, Finland as Wellamo. The ship
was introduced by Silja Line on the Stockholm - Turku route
on January 9, 1986. The ship was moved to Stockholm - Helsinki
service from April 29, 1990 to November 18, 1990 and returned
to Stockholm - Turku service afterwards. The Wellamo was
rebuilt at Lloyd Werft, Bremen, Germany from January 15, 1992
to February 25, 1992 and the called Silja Festival. From June 1,
1993 to April 22, 1994 the ship was operated by Silja Line Euroway
on the Travemünde - Malmö route. Afterwards the ship was again
operated by Silja Line on the Stockholm - Mariehamn - Turku route.
The ship was moved to Helsinki - Tallinn service on August 15, 1995
and returned to Stockholm - Mariehamn - Turku service on April 1,
1997 to replace Silja Scandinavia.
