The ship was built at Brodogradiliste, Split, Croatia
for Sea-Link Shipping and entered service on May 19,
1992. It was operated as Frans Suell for Euroway
on the Travemünde - Malmö route during summertime
and on the Lübeck - Travemünde - Malmö (- Copenhagen)
route during wintertime. This service was quit and
the ship was chartered by Silja Line in March 1994.
It was introduced as Silja Scandinavia on the
Turku - Mariehamn - Stockholm route. In April 1997 the
ship was bought by Viking Line and is now serving
between Stockholm and Helsinki as Gabriella.
